YoonA

Im Yoona was born in Seoul, South Korea. At a young age, she auditioned at the SM Saturday Open Casting Audition and joined the company in 2002. She began to train with the other trainees under the same company in the areas of acting, singing and dancing. During her training days, Yoona appeared on some music videos of other SM artists. She was trained for 6 years before debuting as part of Girls' Generation.
She is a 2009 graduate of Daeyoung High School and is currently attending Dongguk University majoring in theatre and music.

Career
Girls' Generation

Girls' Generation debuted on August 2, 2007, with the song "Into the New World". Their first album, Girls' Generation, was the first album by a female group to sell over 100,000 in South Korea since 2002. The album spawned the singles "Girls' Generation", "Kissing You", and "Baby Baby".

The group generally remained inactive for second half of 2008, although individual members had side activities. In January 2009, the group came back with "Gee", which became a hit among their fans. It currently holds the record for longest running #1 on KBS's music chart show Music Bank, topping the chart for 9 straight weeks.
Solo Activities

Acting
Yoona made her debut as an actress in 2007 with the drama 9 Ends 2 Outs. In 2008, she acted in the drama Woman of Matchless Beauty before her first leading role in the daily drama You Are My Destiny which she won her important recognitions in acting. Yoona filmed her 2009 drama Cinderella Man alongside with Kwon Sang Woo. She had her hair cut to fit her role as a mature fashion designer.
Modeling
Before her debut with Girls' Generation, Yoona had been well known in the entertainment industry. She began to film commercials and model for various magazines when she was a trainee with SM Entertainment. Apart from Girls' Generation's commercials, Yoona is currently a model to endorse Clean & Clear, YeJiMin Pad and Innisfree Cosmetics.
Televison
Yoona is currently the fixed member of Family Outing Season 2 with Yoon Sang Hyun, Kim Won Hee, Ji Sang Ryul, Shin Bong Sun, 2AM's Jo Kwon and 2PM's Taecyeon. The show will begin shooting from 25th Jan.
